Seating
Seating is general admission -- on a first-come, first-served basis. Comfy armchairs arranged in an intimate fashion on the main floor, with two balconies also available.
Fully Accessible through the tall red door through the gate off John St South nearest to Forest Ave. Please note there is a hill to enter this door if you are coming from Forest. It's not overly steep, but there's enough of an incline to make pushing a wheelchair require some effort. If you or your companion uses a wheelchair, please call our office 905.525.7664. Balconies are not accessible for those with mobility issues.
Arriving at the Theatre
Church of the Ascension is a magnificent heritage building (1851) located near the Main Campus of St. Joseph’s Hospital. It is surrounded by Charlton Ave, John St. S, Forest Ave and Hughson St.
There are two main entrances on concert night:
- Forest Avenue, nearest to John Street (Glass Doors) 8 stairs from street.
- John Street (Tall red Doors)

Parking
Any dropoffs should be made only on Forest Avenue, not on John Street. Please exercise caution with all dropoffs. There is free and metered parking along Forest Ave. Once hospital day shifts end between 4-6 these spots free up significantly.
There are two public paid parking lots very close to the Church:
- Charlton & John (SE corner)
- John & Forest (NE corner)
