POSITION: Marketing & Digital Media Coordinator

As Marketing and Digital Media Co-ordinator, you will work with an external Digital Marketing Agency. You will work together to organize traditional print, new video, digital and social media and advertising in order to engage and retain followers and attract new audiences and sponsors.

You will assist in the design, creation, and delivery of engaging written, graphic, and video content while staying up to date on latest marketing technologies and social media. You respect and constantly monitor traditional print, email, radio and television marketing practices. You are proficient in graphics, small video jobs, web advertising, social media and website updates and monitoring. You enjoy collaborating with other staff, media, sponsors and other community partners. You are an excellent writer and communicator who will answer to the Executive Director.

 

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with external Digital Agency to design and/or oversee all aspects of traditional print, email, radio, tv and digital marketing department

Collaborate with external agency in building and managing and expanding social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant. Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success (e.g., Twitter chats, Facebook Live, LinkedIn discussions, etc)

Work with external agency to develop, manage, and design various layouts, communications such as, but not limited to, presentations, newsletters, event support materials, brochures, email, and display advertising campaigns, developing, and coordinating multimedia packages etc.

Develop and monitor campaign budgets, in cooperation with Finance Manager

Work with Box Office and Development Department to manage mail lists – both traditional and digital

Manage various email campaigns, including the template designs, calls-to-action, and content used in email sends. Coordinate with staff to improve marketing results and prepare reports on marketing campaign’s overall performance

Identify and act upon the latest trends and technologies affecting music and the arts and grow mail, email lists and social media followers organically

Create small “organic” behind the scenes videos and photos (ie. Using a phone) for social media teasers to compliment Digital Agency’s professional video jobs

Attend performances, and other community events, occasionally attend rehearsals and assist in other front of house duties at performances

Encourage social media engagement (eg hashtags) by performers, soloists, audiences and community partners

Be open to self-started learning, updating credentials, taking courses or seminars to improve one’s skills in an everchanging media landscape

Perform other administrative duties as required

 

Requirements:

A post-secondary degree or diploma and/or 2-5 years relevant experience, or its equivalent.  Specialization in journalism, broadcasting, marketing, public relations, digital or social media communications is a definite asset, but not essential.

Candidate should possess professional writing skills specific to the job and an excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal communication skills. He/she/they should be at ease at working with the public and be prepared to work in a team environment.

Capability to work remotely and/or home office set up capable of working from home, if necessary

Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as in a team environment is essential. Ability to work under deadline is important and good organizational skills are a must.

Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, web design — experience and skills including familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, iWindows Movie Maker or iMovie and blogging are a definite assets  

Having an appreciation of the performing arts and knowledge of the market and trends in this area is also important. Having a knowledge of classical music is an asset, but not essential.

A valid Ontario Driver’s licence is required. Access to a vehicle is a definite asset.

Salary: commensurate with experience
