Carmina Burana
Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana opens our festival and is arguably the most frequently performed choral work of the 21st century.
Carmina Burana features a collection of songs and poems discovered in the 13th century. Orff set them to music with each telling their own story, featuring drunken feasting, debauchery, romantic love and the power of luck and fate.
