Boris Brott to Guest Conduct in Budapest February 25th
On February 25th 2017 Boris Brott will conduct the Dohnányi Orchestra at the famous and newly renovated Liszt Academy Concert Hall.
The concert, part of the Dohnányi Orchestra’s main series of performances will feature 3 works; Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, a particular favorite of Brott’s who was Assistant Conductor to the Legendary composer and Conductor with the New York Philharmonic in the late 60’s.
Soloist in the concert is Ronald Szintpali. Mr. Szintpali is recognized as one of the world’s foremost solo tuba players. Together with Brott Mr. Szintpali will perform his own Symphony Concertante for Ophicleide and symphony orchestra.
This will be a bit of a homecoming for Brott who conducted this orchestra ten years ago with Mr. Szintpali performing John Williams fiendishly challenging Tuba Concerto.
The concert will end with Antoni Dvorak’s famed “New World” Symphony.
Boris Brott said “I am thrilled to return to this great orchestra and particularly with Ronal who is a musical phenomenon. I have great memories of my performance with the Dohnányi Orchestra a decade ago and I am looking forward to this opportunity to return.”
